Here are the steps:

1. Create remote repository from Bitbucket webpage

2. Create new local repository

cd /path/to/local/repository
git init
git status
git add -A

3. Commit changes on local repository

git commit -m "initial commit"

4. Add a remote repository

# Set a new remote
git remote add origin
# Verify new remote
git remote -v

5. Upload local branch commits to remote repository

git push -u origin master

6. Finished
